Guys Steakhouse opened its doors officially to the Public on 5th June 2007. Guy's Steakhouse is situated at Bridge Street, is under the management of local ladies and sisters, Mary and Sinead McDermott. Both had previously been in business together when they owned the cafe in Long's Supermarket for four years. For the past six years the girls have been operating an outside catering venture, catering for private parties for various social events, the highlight was catering for Van Morrison. The Girls have now decided to turn their expertise to the steakhouse, but will continue with their catering company. Joing them onboard at the steakhouse will be Head Chef Daniel Duddy, previously employed for four years with the Sperrin restaurant, and spent one year as second Chef with the Mellon Country Inn. Not surprisingly Daniel's Specialty is steaks. Guy's top priority is that customers receive the highest quality beef. With a local family butcher on hand, Charles McDermott all produce is local. Guy's employs 12 full time staff and intend to focus on a customer friendly policy. The fully licensed bar includes an extensive wine list to tantalize all taste buds. Mary and Sinead would like to thank all their staff for their excellent work over the past five hectic weeks. "without the help and support of our staff, parents and immediate family, this would have proved a huge task. We would like to welcome all customers, both old and new to the steakhouse, and thank our existing customers for their continued support," said the sisters.
